The Day We Arrived
He was lying on the grass, arms spread wide, legs and feet grounded while looking like he’s mid-flight.
Looking at the sky, he was drowning out the world as he listened to “Tiny Dancer”.

That we were opening doors as we sat together in silence, in sudden belly laughters, in eye contacts that meant, “I know you, what you’re holding, and what you’re becoming.”
Did we know that it was real before it was ready?

In the truths that we allowed to flow by wanting to stay while having to go.
In choosing to show up as we are because we were both tired of pretending.
Did we know that acceptance meant love was real?
